Innovators wanted: join our team at a pivotal moment
Today, Fast Company ranked Coursera ninth on its Best Workplaces for Innovators list. The 2020 ranking features 100 companies that demonstrate a deep commitment to nurturing innovation at all levels.
“As much of the world recovers from health, economic, and social crises, we need innovation more than ever,” said Stephanie Mehta, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “This new list of the Best Workplaces for Innovators celebrates organizations that have fostered innovative thinking by investing in technology, research and development, and their employees.”
We are honored to be among the top ten. This award recognizes events like Make-a-thon and Hypergrowth and celebrates the people behind them — including creators Jon Wong and Tom Kovats and the many Courserians who have participated over the years. These traditions foster a culture of innovation that defines Coursera’s approach to difficult challenges.
Amid the global health crisis and economic slowdown caused by COVID-19, our teams responded quickly to serve learners, partners, governments, and communities in meaningful ways. This includes our Coronavirus Response and Workforce Recovery initiatives, machine learning solutions like CourseMatch, infrastructure improvements to accommodate increased demand, and Coursera for University and College Students.
To further accelerate our mission, we also raised $130 million in a Series F round that closed this month, bringing the company’s cash balance to more than $300 million. This additional financing enables us to continue growing the company and our impact on the world.
To help us address new and long-standing global challenges, we are hiring across our Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Services, Partnerships, Content Strategy, and People teams.
